Autodesk just released an update that allows you to switch quickly between inches and millimeters as you plot or define a page setup. The other dialog box options now change to display the unit of measurement setting you specify.

Haven't installed Service Pack 2 for Windows XP yet... well there are some good reasons why not to yet as some software packages are having problems, but I am sure the dust will settle sooner than later. So while you are waiting you might want to order your free CD from Microsoft. Microsoft was offering this deal when SP2 first came out and for some reason they made it disappear from the site. Anyways, it is back again on the site and I for one will download it once, but like to have it on hand for the next time I am rebuilding my PC. Especially, with SP2 for Windows XP being between 75 and 272 MBs in size based on whether you have been keeping up with updates.

Autodesk announces that AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD LT 2005 work with Windows XP SP2
Get updated and be more secure today. Before you use any software service pack or patch in a large or even small company make sure you test and test it before delivering it to everyone. You may also want to check with your software vendors to make sure there are no issues with their software and Windows XP SP2.

I have just implemented a new online polling software for my website at HyperPics.com. I am going to try to use the online polls to give me an idea of which way to take my website content to better help the visitors of the site and then bring it over here to my weblog. The first poll that I published to me website is about what release of AutoCAD that you might be using, from prior to R12 all the way up to AutoCAD 2005. Now is the time to give some feedback.

There have been some minor issues that have been reported to me since the AutoCAD 2005 version of the document has been released earlier this year. Some changes in spelling or default values make up most of the changes, but the biggest change you will now see where the value is being stored on the most current version of AutoCAD. The other change was the name of the System Variable SAVEIMAGE should have been SAVEIMAGES. You will also find a table of contents for the System Variables located in the AutoCAD R12 - 2005 System Variables file at the end of the document.

If you are still a user of AutoCAD 2000i, a vertical that is based on AutoCAD 2000i or Inventor 6 you might want to think about upgrading soon. As time approaches towards January 15, 2005, your chances to upgrade to the latest version is shrinking. Autodesk has a deal until October 15, 2004 for those that upgrade from 2000i will receive a 20% off discount. I have included a list of the products from the Autodesk website that are in this cutoff, you will want to check to see if yours might be there.

As the release date for 3ds max 7 gets closer, more and more news is starting to surface about the release. I have just recently come across and article that Discreet will include some ATI shader technology.
