Have you ever thought about building your own PC? It is definitely an experience that many think about or even don't think about until it is brought up. As a custom PC builder of my own machines, there is nothing like understanding what goes into your PC. This helps with future upgrading components in the case.
With today's PC's that you buy off the shelf you are limited to what can be upgraded in them, while building your own custom PC might be just slightly higher in cost; this is balanced out by the longevity of upgrading that you can do to the machine when the right base components are purchased up front. You are also able to choose from a much wider set of options, which in itself can be an overwhelming task at first.
If you are interested in learning more about a PC or want to learn how to build your own PC, Robert Blackstone has a great eBook that he has written covering how to build a custom PC. He has just recently posted an article on the newest generation of power supplies, called Modular Power Supplies. You can learn more about the eBook and the Modular Power Supplies article at his website. He has many great tips and other articles on his website, too.
