I move between multiple computers during any given day, desktops and laptops, PCs and Macs. I have found that unless I use a wrist rest when using a mouse, I end up paying the price at the end of the week. While I was shopping for a new desk phone with a speakerphone in the base unit yesterday, I encountered an interesting product. It was a computer glove by IMAK which has a built-in wrist rest and at $15.00 USD, I decided to pick it up and give it a try.
I have only used it for less than 24 hours so I haven't been able to tell if it is worth the $15 or not. The glove does not seem to require me to constantly reposition it like my older wrist rest that would shift around as I moved the mouse or seem to constantly be falling on the floor. I know I could buy a wrist rest with a mouse pad attached to it which I had before, but it always seems like it is a much smaller mousing area though.
The one thing that I have noticed that is kind of bothersome is the banding that is between the thumb and index finger. Time will tell if that is what dooms the use of the glove for me. Other than that it does a good job at providing support for my wrist. In all honesty, to me it would have made more sense to do a glove that has half length fingers but see why the current design was selected over that though.
I will do a follow-up posting about a week or two.
Sincerely,
Lee
