The Internet has always been focused on documentation of some sort, everyone sharing what they know. This might be through Web sites, wikis, blogs or even tweets these days. For more than a few years now, the Internet has been evolving into a collaborative environment with sites like My Space, Facebook, and Twitter to name some of the more recent iterations of social media tools. While these have impacted how we stay connected with friends and family, it has not been truly integrated into the software applications that we use daily.
I have read a book recently by Anne Gentle that explores a variety of topics around social media and software. If you find documentation and social media of interest, I highly recommend reading Anne's book titled "Conversation and Community: The Social Web for Documentation".
Sincerely,
Lee
